I purchased the farm three years ago and have been working to create a joyful place for animals, plants and people alike. Jubilee Farms is a place to visit and enjoy the enchantment of the land and the animals that make this place their home.
Our resident sheep, alpacas and angora rabbits give us a wonderful yield of wool. I process my own wool and am an avid hand-spinner. We plan to offer many workshops in the near future. All of our leftover fleeces (fiber) are used to mulch our plants and trees for natural weed control. We value regenerative practices by saving rainwater and composting to support our natural environment.
Two years ago, I began planting the lavender field. I wanted to create an inviting place to visit. Each year we have expanded the field and our first harvest was last year. Our lavender has nourished our bees and butterflies and is ready to be a blessing to all. We are now offering lavender products to take a little bit of our farm home with you.
At the top of our lavender field, we also planted a Butterfly Garden. In addition to the lavender we have installed plants that will promote an environment for the Monarch butterfly. The Monarch butterfly is close to being on the endangered list. And we have planted butterfly bushes, milk weed, bee balm in addition to the lavender to nurture and cultivate an environment for the monarch to flourish. Our bees, “Jubilee Bees” are also the beneficiaries of all of these fields, and they pollinate all of our plants.
We also have a large flock of free-range chickens ready to greet you when you visit. They produce beautiful nutritious eggs for us and are a constant source of entertainment.
Our mission here at Jubilee Farms is to produce quality, sustainable products while creating a joyful place that nurtures the land, animals and is a blessing to all.
